AI at the Bedside: Turning Innovation into Care at ZORG2040
From promise to practice: AI at the bedside.
Last Thursday at ZORG2040, we brought together minds from across healthcare, policy, research and tech for “AI at the Bedside: From Promise to Practice.” We kicked off with two inspiring talks:
Ideas took place in nine Open Space sessions. Participants brought their own challenges and inspirations to the table, starting conversations on everything from data and algorithms to safety, ethics, implementation hurdles, and generative AI.
Hosted by: Amsterdam Economic Board, ROM InWest, Sigra, Amsterdam AI, and Rabobank.

- Hidde Hovenkamp, co-founder of Pacmed, shared how AI is being scaled in ICUs across the Netherlands, transforming real-time decision-making and easing the burden on care teams.
- Mathilde Tans, PhD candidate at Amsterdam UMC, introduced the CARE-HEART project, focused on developing AI tools for better palliative care for heart failure patients.
